Anna I love this answer. We are doing a book study during youth on Wednesday nights and this is one of the questions in the book and I got to wondering how people around me would answer this questions so thank you for responding.
jesus is dirty radical confrontational non-violent but active stinks really bad not american not republican not democratic a 1st century feminist lover of all especially the outcast if he came today we would lock him up because he would go so crazy. he would not be in america. he is a jew..for sure..very jewish. anti-consuming gardner carpenter leathery skin stinky breath because he had bad teeth-everyone in the 1st century did he would love george bush and bin laden...this would upset people. it upsets me...
I had to think about this question a bit before I answered it. I didn't want to read anyone else's answer before I wrote mine either.
This question reminds me of the clip from Talladega Nights where they're arguing over "Baby Jesus" at the dinner table. hehe ...
Most important to me, I try not to think of Jesus as being "my" Jesus at all. He's everyone's, whether they accept him or not. He walked the earth, lived and died for all of us.
My image of Jesus has changed as I've grown. I was raised Catholic and I always viewed Jesus as an interceptor of prayer between myself (a sinner) and God. I guess I kind of had it in my mind that God was too angry with me to hear my prayers, but Jesus had pity enough to send along the messages as they got through.
Now my understanding has broadened. Jesus means so much more to me now than I could have ever imagined. I can't even begin to describe everything He is to me, because words just fail to do Him justice. But I will try. Most importantly, He is very Real to me. He is an example for the life I keep trying to lead (even when my attempts are embarrassingly feeble); He is a teacher through the Gospels; He is my comfort when the world gets too heavy; He is my savior; He always believes in me, even when I think nobody else could.
Thanks for posting this question and making me think about it enough to put it into words.
Thanks Tersie & John! I've decided that I like this blog and that maybe I won't post another one so people will get bored and start posting comments to this one. lol! I really value all opinions!

My Jesus spent his time with theives and sluts and liars.
If my Jesus was physicaly here now, he's be a cool, mellow but passionate FRIEND.
The life of the party in a subtle, humble way.
His laugh would be infectious and contagious.
The kind of guy you want to just listen to and talk to..all the time.
But even know I can't see him, I know My Jesus is obsessed with loving me. No matter how screwed up I am.
:)
